Qualcosa su di me
[ITA] Nato e cresciuto a Roma, ho iniziato a fotografare tardi, all'età di 30 anni, semplicemente perché volevo ricordare un viaggio che avrei fatto di lì a poco. Scopro presto che non mi piace fare "cartoline", ma che mi piace raccontare luoghi e situazioni attraverso il filtro delle mie emozioni. Mi incuriosisco, mi appassiono e studio sempre di più. E proprio quando la fotografia di viaggio comincia a darmi soddisfazioni e riconoscimenti, il mio cuore mi dice che la fotografia di ritratto è il mezzo giusto per esprimermi completamente. Non faccio altro che studiare i grandi maestri e le loro fotografie, imparo e affino la mia tecnica, mi metto nelle mani di uno dei più grandi fotografi professionisti italiani contemporanei e il mio linguaggio espressivo inizia a nascere e a svilupparsi. Scopro che raccontare gli altri attraverso le mie emozioni non mi basta, sento il bisogno di raccontarmi attraverso gli altri. Quando sento con forza che in uno dei miei ritratti c'è tanto di me, so nel mio cuore che la foto è riuscita.

[ENG] Born and raised in Rome, I started taking pictures quite late, at the age of 30, simply because I wanted to remember a trip I was about to take. I soon discovered that I didn’t enjoy making “postcards,” but that I liked telling stories about places and situations through the filter of my emotions. I became curious, passionate, and kept studying more and more. And just when travel photography began to give me satisfaction and recognition, my heart told me that portrait photography was the right way to fully express myself. I did nothing but study the great masters and their photographs, learning and refining my technique. I placed myself in the hands of one of the greatest contemporary Italian professional photographers, and my expressive language began to take shape and grow. I discovered that telling others through my emotions wasn’t enough, I felt the need to tell my own story through others. When I strongly feel that one of my portraits holds a lot of me inside, I know in my heart that the photo has succeeded.
